Revolution Magazine 2.1 Released

I am proud to announce that I have officially released Revolution Magazine 2.1, which addresses a major request that I had been having. Here’s a list of what I have changed with the theme:

  • The navigation now includes dropdown menus for both pages and categories.

The upgraded version of Revolution Magazine will be made freely available to anyone who has purchased the theme. Please contact me if you would like to upgrade to the Revolution Magazine 2.1 version.

You can view the demo here. The demo site’s subnavbar has the style switcher, but the 2.1 version’s subnavbar is a list of categories, with the dropdown feature.

I will soon be developing a video tutorial that will show you how to upgrade version 2.0 to version 2.1 without the need to replace the theme entirely. It’s simply copy and pasting some code, which will be shown in the tutorial.

Revolution News 2.1 Released

I am proud to announce that I have officially released Revolution News 2.1, which addresses a few things I thought were necessary. Here’s a list of what I have changed with the theme:

  • Home page now has an interactive Tabber setup, where images are no longer hardcoded and are being pulled dynamically from within the post. The Domtab setup on version 2.0 had a display issue with IE6, which is why I switched over.
  • The navigation on the theme is now equipped with drop down menus, which is a huge bonus with those who utilize the parent/child setup.
  • The sidebars have now been reconfigured to align with the terminology that WordPress uses for the most common widgets. (i.e. Categories, Archives, Recent Comments, etc.)

The upgraded version of Revolution News will be made freely available to anyone who has purchased the theme. Please contact me if you would like to upgrade to the Revolution News 2.1 version.

Because I made quite a few changes to the code within the theme files and while implementing the drop down menus and Tabber section on the home page, I suggest using the 2.1 version. Unfortunately too much has been changed for me to provide a change log where you could add code to your existing files.

* Special note - the Featured story box with tabs on the homepage is no longer using Domtabs, and now uses Tabber.
